Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

zerog-ts-sdk

This is the JavaScript SDK for zerog-storage. Features include:

  • [x] File Merkle Tree Class
  • [x] Flow Contract Types
  • [x] RPC methods support
  • [x] File upload
  • [x] Support browser environment
  • [ ] Tests for different environments
  • [ ] File download

Install

npm install zerog-da-sdk ethers

ethers@v6 is a peer dependency of this project.

Usage

Node.js environment ESM example:

Use NHFile to create a file object, then call merkleTree method to get the merkle tree of the file.

import { NHFile } from 'zerog-da-sdk';

const file = await NHFile.fromFilePath('path/to/file');
const [tree, err] = await file.merkleTree();
if (err === null) {
  console.log("File Root Hash: ", tree.rootHash());
}
await file.close();

Create and submit submission:

import { getFlowContract, TESTNET_FLOW_ADDRESS, calculateSubmissionFee } from 'zerog-da-sdk';
import { ethers } from 'ethers';

// create ethers signer from private key and rpc endpoint
const evmRpc = 'https://evmtestnet.confluxrpc.com';
const provider = new ethers.JsonRpcProvider(evmRpc);
const privateKey = 'your-private-key'; // with balance to pay for gas
const signer = new ethers.Wallet(privateKey, provider);

// get flow contract instance
const flowContract = getFlowContract(TESTNET_FLOW_ADDRESS, signer);

const tagBytes = '0x';
const [submission, err] = await file.createSubmission(tagBytes); // check previous example for file
if (err != null) {
    console.log('create submission error: ', err);
    return;
}
let fee = calculateSubmissionFee(submission); // calculate the fee
let tx = await flowContract.submit(submission, {value: fee});
await tx.wait();
console.log(tx.hash);

Upload file to zerog-storage:

import { NHProvider } from 'zerog-da-sdk';

const nhRpc = 'http://54.193.124.127:5678';
const nhProvider = new NHProvider(nhRpc);

await nhProvider.uploadFile(file);

Browser environment example:

Import zerogda.esm.js in your html file:

<script type="module">
  import { NHBlob, NHProvider, getFlowContract } from "./dist/zerogda.esm.js";
  // Your code here...
</script>

Create file object from blob:

const file = new NHBlob(blob);
const [tree, err] = await file.merkleTree();
if (err === null) {
  console.log("File Root Hash: ", tree.rootHash());
}

Create and submit submission:

// create ethers signer from private key and rpc endpoint
import { BrowserProvider } from 'ethers'; // or from ethers.js url
import { getFlowContract, TESTNET_FLOW_ADDRESS } from 'zerog-da-sdk';
let provider = new BrowserProvider(window.ethereum) // metamask need to be installed
let signer = await provider.getSigner();

// get flow contract instance
const flowContract = getFlowContract(TESTNET_FLOW_ADDRESS, signer);

const tagBytes = '0x';
const [submission, err] = await file.createSubmission(tagBytes); // check previous example for file
if (err != null) {
    console.log('create submission error: ', err);
    return;
}
let tx = await flowContract.submit(submission);
await tx.wait();
console.log(tx.hash);

File upload is same with node.js environment.

Check codes in examples for more details.
