Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Excel Validator

A simple and efficient utility for validating Excel files against expected column headers using TypeScript. This package leverages the exceljs library to parse and validate the structure of Excel files.

Installation

To install the package, use npm:

npm install excel-validator

API

validateExcel(buffer: Buffer, expectedHeaders: string[]): Promise<ValidationResult>

Parameters:

  • buffer (Buffer): The buffer of the Excel file to be validated.
  • expectedHeaders (string[]): An array of expected column headers in the first row of the Excel sheet.

Returns:

  • A promise that resolves to an object of type ValidationResult.

ValidationResult

  • isValid (boolean): Indicates whether the Excel file is valid.
  • errors (ValidationError[]): An array of validation errors, if any.

ValidationError

  • type (string): The type of the error (e.g., "Validation", "Error").
