Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

223. today, mankind is more aware than ever before of the fragility of the ecosystem, and this is a good thing. yet, we cannot ignore the grave consequences of the way in which we are treating our planet. the loss of biodiversity, the destruction of natural habitats, the spread of deserts and the destruction of the forests are all manifestations of what the ecologist michel serres has called the exhaustion of the earth, the body of our planet. the planet is struggling to provide us with the conditions for our survival, and that is why we have to respect the planet in all our activity, in all the decisions we make, and in all the commitments we undertake. our actions must not damage the planet. in a world that is threatened by environmental deterioration and economic globalisation, the challenge is to reverse the spiral of destruction, to give a new dimension to the human and the humanising dimension, to give fresh significance to the spiritual dimension of human life.

336. such considerations must be carefully weighed. if we are to remain faithful to the highest values, we cannot be trapped by one or another ideal. we must be able to think beyond the purely theoretical and seek concrete answers to the problems that arise. it is possible that there is no one ultimate answer. what matters is what we do now, and how we live our lives in the midst of all the suffering and injustice that pervades the world. we must be open to the unexpected and learn from the mistakes of the past. this openness can help us to understand both the origins and the dangers of conflict. it will also help us to find the proper means of avoiding future clashes, in order to create a new peace based on justice and the respect for human rights. 84d34552a1
