Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

windows movie maker is targeted at the amateur, and its easy to use. you just drag, drop, and replace videos and images, and windows movie maker makes the magic for you. some video editors use a touch-based interface, but it works better in windows movie maker because theres no physical buttons to press.

but sometimes, youd just like a little more power. for example, if youve ever tried to move audio from one clip to another, youll find that windows movie maker doesnt offer that feature. if you ever wanted to add captions to your video, youd be out of luck: windows movie maker doesnt even have a feature for it, making it a lot harder to add captions than it should be. it also lacks the ability to adjust video and audio levels, although if your video is too bright you can trim it for a bit of a boost.

windows movie maker offers audio and video editing features, including effects, transitions, and titles. this means that you can import and export lots of formats, including most of the standard video formats (avchd, mp4, wmv, etc).

it is not a simple video editor. as mentioned earlier, to take advantage of the app, you dont need to do much. just drag and drop files onto the timeline and their locations are automatically updated. windows movie maker doesnt offer much more than the basic functionality you would expect from a video editor. for those who like to get down and dirty, like the ability to select specific frames, copy/paste video and audio files, or adjust brightness and contrast, there are other software you can use.

otherwise, windows movie maker is easy to use: simply drag videos onto the timeline and theyll appear in the right location. for example, if you drag a video from your desktop onto the timeline, itll appear in the exact spot where it was saved. you can also drag files from the video library onto the timeline, which is convenient, though it does require that you first copy the video file to the right location on your pc. you can also add transitions between different parts of the video. 84d34552a1
