Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

NPM version

Very simple whois microservice, web-interface to standart whois command on UNIX-like systems.

Written in JavaScript, powered by Node.js and available as NPM package.

Quick example

After run the service, type in your browser something like this:

http://127.0.0.1:8899/ya.ru

And you will see the response as plain text:

Installation

whois command must be installed and must be in your $PATH.

Installation with NPM as global module:

$ npm i -g whois-microservice

Run service

$ whois-microservice

Command-line interface, options

$ whois-microservice --help

  Usage: whois-microservice [options]

  Very simple whois microservice, web-interface to standart whois command on UNIX-like systems.

  Options:

    -h, --help             output usage information
    -V, --version          output the version number
    --hostname <hostname>  hostname, 0.0.0.0 by default
    --port <port>          port, 8899 by default
