Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

About

vue-deep allows you to initialize objects of any depth without loss of reactivity, the library is an extension of the standard $set and $delete methods, which is why such a small weight and no bugs. You can use library in vuex or vue files.

Watch demo

https://furashcka.github.io/vue-deep/#demo

Installation

Install via NPM

npm i vue-deep

Install via Yarn

yarn add vue-deep

How use

Register locally

import { vueDeepMixin } from "vue-deep";

// Options API
export default {
  name: "component-name",

  mixins: [vueDeepMixin],
};

Usage

// Options API
export default {
  data: () => ({
    products: {},
  }),

  mounted() {
    this.$deepSet("products.categories.flowers.roses", {
      id: 1,
      price: 18.3,
    });
  },
};

Note vue-deep can work with ONLY entry points, what does it mean? You must initialize main object in data, and then works with the object use some: $deepGet, $deepSet, $deepDelete, $deepModel

Methods

$deepGet

Gets value by path. If path not exists can be return default value.

// Options API
export default {
  data: () => ({
    authors: {},
  }),

  mounted() {
    const topBooks = this.$deepGet("authors.stephen-king.books.top", [
      "The Stand",
      "It",
      "The Shining",
    ]);
  },
};

$deepSet

Set value to object by path, without loss reactivity.

// Options API
export default {
  data: () => ({
    authors: {},
  }),

  mounted() {
    const topBooks = ["The Stand", "It", "The Shining"];

    this.$deepSet("authors.stephen-king.books.top", topBooks);
  },
};

$deepDelete

Removes the property by path, without loss reactivity.

// Options API
export default {
  data: () => ({
    authors: {},
  }),

  mounted() {
    const topBooks = ["The Stand", "It", "The Shining"];

    this.$deepSet("authors.stephen-king.books.top", topBooks);
    this.$deepDelete("authors.stephen-king.books.top[1]");
  },
};

$deepModel

Bindings form input by path.

<input v-model="$deepModel('authors.stephen-king.books.top[0]').model" />
<!-- OR -->
<input v-model="$deepModel('authors.stephen-king.books.top[0]').m" />

Usage in VUEX

import _ from "lodash";
import axios from "axios";
import Vue from "vue";
import { deepGet, deepSetWith, deepDeleteWith } from "vue-deep";

export const state = () => ({
  authors: {},
});

export const getters = {};

export const actions = {
  async fetchBooks({ state, commit }) {
    const res = await axios.get("https://example.com/api/books/get");

    _.each(res.data, (book) => {
      if (!book.isTop) return;

      const path = `authors.${book.key}.books.top`;
      const index = _.size(deepGet(state, path, []));

      commit("setState", {
        [`${path}[${index}]`]: book.name,
      });
    });
  },
};

export const mutations = {
  setState(state, newState) {
    _.each(newState, (val, path) => deepSetWith(state, path, val, Vue.set));
  },

  deleteState(state, path) {
    deepDeleteWith(state, path, Vue.delete);
  },
};
