Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Table Slots

Buttons slot

↑ back to table of contents

<template v-slot:table-buttons>
  <button>Do any action</button>
</template>

Table Header And Data slots

↑ back to table of contents

How slot work ? Table headers slot all white spaces in column title replaced by _ and.

    "My Name Is" => "my_name_is"

if you want to add slot in table headers simply add suffix _col to end of name.

let columns = [
  {
    title: "Email",
    data: "email"
  },
  {
    title: "User Full Name",
    data:"user.full_name"
  }
]

// table header slot
<template v-slot:email_col></template>
<template v-slot:user_full_name_col></template>

// table data slot
<template v-slot:email="data"></template>
<template v-slot:user_full_name="{data}"></template>

Server Side Mode

↑ back to table of contents

when using serve side mode , vue data grids will send query parameters with every request to api .

Query params :

↑ back to table of contents

const query_params = {
  /**
   * page number
   *
   * @var number [default  1]
   */
  page: 1,
  /**
   * result per page
   *
   * @var number [default 10]
   */
  rpp: 10,
  /**
   * sort column name
   *
   * @var string [default null]
   */
  sort_by: "name",
  /**
   * sort direction
   * directions [asc, desc]
   *
   * @var string [default  asc]
   *
   */
  sort_dir: "asc",
  /**
   * search keyword
   *
   * @var string [default null]
   */
  search: "something",
};

Send update signal

↑ back to table of contents

Incase of doing any action and want to reload table, simply add ref to vue-data-grids component and then call method sendUpdateSignal

Example

<template>
  <div>
    <vue-data-grids
      :columns="columns"
      :ajax="ajax"
      :serverSide="true"
      :onSelectRows="onSelectRows"
      ref="dataTable"
    >
      <template v-slot:table-buttons>
        <button @click="do_action">do action</button>
      </template>
    </vue-data-grids>
  </div>
</template>

<script>
  export default {
    data() {
      return {
        /**
         * selected table rows
         */
        selectedRows: [],
        /**
         * table columns
         */
        columns: [
          {
            title: "Name",
            data: "name",
          },
        ],
        ajax: {
          // ajax url
          url: "/host/api_point",
          // where to get table data
          data: (data) => data.data,
          // where to get total rows
          total: (data) => data.total,
        },
      };
    },

    methods: {
      /**
       * on selecting rows callback
       *
       * @param {Array} rows
       */
      onSelectRows(rows) {
        this.selectedRows = rows;
      },
      /**
       * do action with selected rows
       */
      do_action() {
        // do any action
        // single update signal to notify
        // vue-data-grids with new changes of data
        // and reload data again
        this.$refs.dataTable.sendUpdateSignal();
      },
    },
  };
