Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

VinMention

Description

There are many libraries for mentions or tributes for core javascript imeplementation. But there is no library for angular which can properyly work with angular forms. For this purpose I have created this library so that developers can use it in their project without any issue.

Installation

npm install --save vin-mention.

For Angular 10 use version 3.0.x

Usage

  1. Use mentionInput directive at content editable element. eg:
<div vinContentEditable="innerHTML" [formControl]="fc" matContentEditableInput [mentionInput]="mymentions" placeholder="content editable"></div>
  1. Add MentionConfig
this.mentionConfig = {
  filterListItems: true,
  insertOnSpace: true,
  triggerChar: '@',
  selectionCallback: this.githubSelCall
}
  1. Provide the mention list menu as the content of the vin-mention component. eg:
<vin-mention #mymentions="vinMention" [config]="mentionConfig">
    <mat-card>
      <mat-action-list>
        <button mat-list-item *ngFor="let item of mentionList;" [mentionListItem]="item">
          {{item.data.value}} </button>
      </mat-action-list>
    </mat-card>
  </vin-mention>

You can design the menu how ever you want. Just take care or using mentionListItem with an input value of type MentionListItemConfig.

DO NOT FORGET TO PROVIDE selectionCallback AS CONFIG TO THE vin-metion, WITH THE FOLLWOING SIGNATURE. SelectionCallback function will be call when user have selected an item from the list. The returned value from the callback will be inserted at the place of mention.

(selectedItem: MentionListItemConfig) => string;

Tips

  1. You can provide extra config to vin-mention by using the following structure.
class MentionConfig {
  constructor(
    public triggerChar: string,
    public filterListItems: boolean,
    public insertOnSpace: boolean,
    public selectionCallback: SelectionCallback,
  ) { }
}
  1. If you are using vin-mention wiht contenteditable element, please use with vin-content-editable package for better support. However you can use your own controlvalueaccessor implementation for content editalbe element.

Example

Here is demo.

Please have a look at

vin-content-editable.
