Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

verdaccio-github-oauth

Verdaccio authentication plugin with github oauth web flow

This will allow you to auth via github web oauth flow. It is compatible with verdaccio

Installation

  • Create an oauth application in github
  • Set the callback url of your github application to http://url-to.your.registry/oauth/callback
  • $ npm i verdaccio -g
  • $ npm i verdaccio-github-oauth -g

Configuration

Add the following in your config.yaml

middlewares:
  github-oauth:
    client-id: github-app-id # required
    client-secret: github-app-secret # required
    git-hostname: git-enteprise-domain-name # optional 

auth:
  github-oauth:
    org: aroundus-inc # required, people within this org will be able to auth
    cache-ttl-ms: 60000 # default to 30s if not present

Run

$ verdaccio -c /path/to/config.yaml -l 0.0.0.0:4873

Authenticating

You cannot use npm login to authenticate via this method, instead install sinopia-github-oauth-cli
