Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

useStateHandler

Object based hook. bring the value of hooks and class based definitions together ( including this.setState )

Maintain a unique instance of the handler class on memory.

Heavy functions are not instantiated in every render.

Minimal code!. Forget about useCallback, useReducer and custom hooks.

How to use

  1. Create a handler class C_Handler that extends StateHandler < StateType >. Add all setState methods you want to this class.

  2. Use the hook useStateHandler( C_Handler, initial_value ). This hook returns [ state, C_Handler ]

  3. enjoy!

  • Never set Handler.state directly, is read Only!

instanceCreated() function

if exist is called just after object is created and initial_value is setted

State initialization

You can set a state in class definition, pass a initial_value to the hook, defining in the constructor or in the instanceCreated method.

Handler state should not have multiple inititializations, but if happens this will be the result: instanceCreated() > Constructor() > MyHandler.state > initial_value
