Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Command line utility for polling a URL and writing the contents to a file

Setup

Install with npm install --global url2text.

Use

See the most recent help by running url2text --help

USAGE

  url2text <url>

ARGUMENTS

  <url>      URL to pull content from      required

OPTIONS

  --location <location>      Write URL contents to <location>      optional      default: "url-to-text.txt"
  --interval <interval>      Refresh interval in ms                optional      default: 5000

GLOBAL OPTIONS

  -h, --help         Display help
  -V, --version      Display version
  --no-color         Disable colors
  --quiet            Quiet mode - only displays warn and error messages
  -v, --verbose      Verbose mode - will also output debug messages
