Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

uplus-webcrawler

A web crawler/scraping package that can be configured to crawl many websites with different layouts. It is built on the Puppeteer library and most of the documentation for Puppeteer will apply to this package. Visit upluscrawler npm page.

Install the package

  npm i upluscrawler

class Crawler

The crawler class can be configured to search for different elements on a webpage.

stored

a list that holds the data scraped by the crawler

selectors

key value pairs of the desired value, and the css selector of the element on the webpage

crawl(page, link)

Used to scrape the website of the given link. Scraped data is automatically stored in the stored variable

page: Puppeteer page object

link: string - the url of the page to scrape
