Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

upi-uri-payment

upi-uri-payment is a native module for React Native that facilitates UPI (Unified Payments Interface) payments. This module provides a method called openUPIApp which takes a UPI payment intent URL as a parameter and opens a bottom sheet displaying installed UPI apps on the device. Selecting a specific app navigates the user to that app to complete the payment.

Features

  • Opens a bottom sheet with installed UPI apps on the device.
  • Navigates to the selected UPI app to complete the payment.
  • Supports both Android and iOS platforms.

Installation

Using npm

npm install upi-uri-payment

Using yarn

yarn add upi-uri-payment

Linking the Package

For React Native versions 0.60 and above, the package is automatically linked. For older versions, you need to link the package manually:

react-native link upi-uri-payment

Additional Setup for iOS

URL Schemes for UPI Apps

To integrate specific UPI apps in your app, you need to find the URL Schemes for those apps and add them to the Info.plist file.

  1. Create a master list of UPI apps: Determine the UPI apps you want to integrate into your app. Some common UPI apps include Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, and others.

  2. Find URL Schemes: Look up the URL Schemes for each UPI app. You can often find this information in the app’s developer documentation or by searching online.

  3. Add URL Schemes to Info.plist:

Open your Info.plist file and add the URL Schemes for each app. It should look something like this:

<key>LSApplicationQueriesSchemes</key>
<array>
  <string>gpay</string>
  <string>phonepe</string>
  <string>paytm</string>
  <string>bhim</string>
  <!-- Add other URL Schemes here -->
</array>

Usage

To use the upi-uri-payment module, import it into your React Native component and call the openUPIApp method with the UPI payment intent URL as a parameter.

Example

import React from 'react';
import { Button, View } from 'react-native';
import { openUPIApp } from 'upi-uri-payment';

const App = () => {
  const handlePayment = () => {
    const upiPaymentUrl = 'upi://pay?pa=example@upi&pn=Example%20Merchant&am=10&cu=INR';

    try {
        await openUPIApp(upiPaymentUrl);
    } catch(err) {
        // handle err
    }

  };

  return (
    <View>
      <Button title="Pay with UPI" onPress={handlePayment} />
    </View>
  );
};

export default App;

Parameters

  • upiPaymentUrl (string): The UPI payment intent URL.

Methods

openUPIApp(upiPaymentUrl)

Opens a bottom sheet displaying installed UPI apps and navigates to the selected app for completing the payment.

Platforms Supported

  • Android
  • iOS
