Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Update a .verb.md file to use the latest conventions and fix formatting mistakes or incompatibilities.

Install

Install update

If you haven't already installed update globally, you can do that now with the following command:

$ npm install --global update

This adds update to your system path, allowing it to be run from any directory.

Install updater-verb

Install this module with the following command:

$ npm install --global updater-verb

Usage

Make sure your work is committed, then run the updater's default task with the following command:

$ update verb

What will happen?

This updater's default task will:

  • rename old .verbrc.md files to .verb.md
  • replace the old {%= license() %} helper syntax with the {%= license %} variable
  • a handful of other verb-specific things you can find in the code
