Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Tints and Shades

Introduction

Tints and Shades is a lightweight library for Node.js that generates tints and shades of colors.

Installation

To use Tints and Shades in your project, you can install it via npm or yarn.

npm install tints-shades

or

yarn add tints-shades

Usage

generateTint

This function generates a tint of the provided color.

import { generateTint } from "tints-shades";

// You can provide the color as a hex string
const color = "#ff0000";
const tint = generateTint(color, 0.5);
console.log(tint); // #ff8080

// You can also provide the color as an RGB array
const color = [255, 0, 0];
const tint = generateTint(color, 0.5);
console.log(tint); // #ff8080

generateShade

This function generates a shade of the provided color.

import { generateShade } from "tints-shades";

// You can provide the color as a hex string
const color = "#ff0000";
const shade = generateShade(color, 0.5);
console.log(shade); // #800000

// You can also provide the color as an RGB array
const color = [255, 0, 0];
const shade = generateShade(color, 0.5);
