Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

tinkerhub-device-hue

Support for Philips Hue lights in Tinkerhub. This module supports both the Philips Hue bridge and the deConz REST plugin.

  • Latest version: 0.4.1
  • Status: Stable

Installation and use

When running tinkerhubd install via:

$ tinkerhubd install device-hue

Bridges found will have the type hue:bridge. You will need to link with the bridge:

$ tinkerhub
> type:bridge:hue link

After running press the link button on the bridge or for deConz open the bridge via the web interface.

After this lights and sensors should be made available with various types and capabilities.

Supported lights

Any light that you can connect to your bridge should be supported. These include:

  • Philips Hue lights
  • IKEA Trådfri lights (latest firmware - or using deConz)
  • OSRAM Lightify lights and plugs
  • Zigbee Light Links (ZLL) compatible lights and plugs

In addition deConz supports Zigbee Home Automation (ZHA) and Zigbee 3.0 lights and plugs.

Supported sensors

For the Hue bridge this is limited to the Hue motion sensor.

Using deConz the following sensors are supported:

  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) temperature and humidity sensor
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) weather sensor (2017 model)
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) motion sensor
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) motion and illuminance sensor (2017 model)
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) door and window sensor
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) door and window sensor (2017 model)
  • IKEA Trådfri motion sensor

Supported controllers and remotes

Controllers on a Hue bridge will appear but will not be very useful due to events being polled only once every five seconds.

deConz has a websocket connection and receives events as they occur. Supported controllers:

  • Hue Dimmer
  • Hue Tap
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) wireless switch
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) wireless switch (2017 model)
  • Xiaomi Aqara (Lumi) smart cube
  • IKEA Trådfri remote
  • IKEA Trådfri dimmer
