synthetic-division
A library to compute synthetic division of polynomials.
Usage
This library uses polynomials where the coefficients are stored in an array and the 0th element is the coefficient of the largest degree term.
The following code computes the division (x3 - 12x2-42) / (x-3).
const P = [1, -12, 0, -42];
const D = [1, -3];
const { q: quotient, r: remainder } = synthDiv(P, D);
expect(quotient).to.be.eql([1, -9, -27]);
expect(remainder).to.be.eql([-123]);
This library works for non-monic polynomials as well (despite the example being monic).
