symbolic-calculus.js

symbolic-calculus.js is a Node.js module for symbolicly evaluating mathematical expressions.

Using the module

install the module in your project with

npm install symbolic-calculus
// or
yarn add symbolic-calculus

Require or import the symoblic-calculus module and use it evaluate derivatives and integrals of symbolic mathematical expressions.

const SymbolicCalculus = require('symbolic-calculus');

// 5x + 3
let equation = SymbolicCalculus.createEquation('+ (* 5 x) 3)');
let derivative = equation.derivate();

console.log(derivative.toString()); => '5'

Dependencies

None :)

The project is built in Typescript and transpiles down to ES2016, and is therefore useable across the vast majority of platforms.

Testing

symbolic-calculus.js uses Jest for testing. Tests can be found in ./test. To test, use npm run test or yarn test, and to see test coverage, run npm run coverage or yarn coverage.
