Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

This plugin works with NMEA 2000 switches such as the Maretron CKM12. It allows you to use the NMEA switch to control any switch path in SignalK.

There are 4 options for the action to be taken when the button is depressed. Toggle On/Off, Toggle On, Toggle Off, and Momentary.

Maretron DCR100 Configuration

In this example I have two channels configured on a Maretron DCR100. One is for my engine room blowers and one is for my horn. I have configured the path names using the PathMapper plugin. The switches use the following paths.

ER Blowers = Instance 21, Indicator 5 = electrical.switches.bank.dclc21.erBlowers.state

Horn = Instance 21, Indicator 2 = electrical.switches.bank.dclc21.horn.state

Maretron CKM12 Configuration

In this example I have configured the CMK12 to use device instance 30 on the NMEA network. I have further configured Key #8 LED for the blowers and Key #11 LED for the horn. When I press button #8, I want it to turn on the blowers and when I press key #11 I want it to blow the airhorn.

Plugin Installation

The plugin can be installed through the SignalK Appstore.

Plugin Installation

Once installed please restart SignalK.

Plugin Configuration

Browse to the SignalK plugin cofiguration and open the NMEA 2000 Switch Alias plugin. Here you can click on the + sign and then associate the physical switch to the path you wish to control. In this example I first configured Instance 30 Indicator 8 to control electrical.switches.bank.dclc21.erBlowers.state.

Blowers

I then configured Instance 30 Indicator 11 to control electrical.switches.bank.dclc21.horn.state. In this case I only want the horn to blow so long as I am depressing the physical switch, so I set the action to Momentary.

When you are finished configuring the aliases, click the Submit button.
