Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

shadcn-fe-ui components

Fan implementation of the SHADCN/UI project as an NPM library

installation

 npm i shadcn-fe-ui
 yarn add shadcn-fe-ui
 pnpm add shadcn-fe-ui

And optionally the tailwind plugin

 npm i shadcn-fe-tw tailwindcss-animate
 yarn add shadcn-fe-tw tailwindcss-animate
 pnpm add shadcn-fe-tw tailwindcss-animate

and add it into your tailwind.config

export default {
  content: [
    // vite
    "./index.html",
    "./src/**/*.{js,ts,jsx,tsx}"
        // next
    "app/**/*.{ts,tsx}",
    "components/**/*.{ts,tsx}",
  ],

plugins: [
    require("tailwindcss-animate"),
    require("shadcn-fe-tw")
  ],
};

or just add the tailwind config manually

const { fontFamily } = require("tailwindcss/defaultTheme")

/** @type {import('tailwindcss').Config} */
module.exports = {
  darkMode: ["class"],
  content: ["app/**/*.{ts,tsx}", "components/**/*.{ts,tsx}"],
  theme: {
    container: {
      center: true,
      padding: "2rem",
      screens: {
        "2xl": "1400px",
      },
    },
    extend: {
      colors: {
        border: "hsl(var(--border))",
        input: "hsl(var(--input))",
        ring: "hsl(var(--ring))",
        background: "hsl(var(--background))",
        foreground: "hsl(var(--foreground))",
        primary: {

          foreground: "hsl(var(--muted-foreground))",
        },
        accent: {
          DEFAULT: "hsl(var(--accent))",

        popover: {

          foreground: "hsl(var(--popover-foreground))",
        },
        card: {
          DEFAULT: "hsl(var(--card))",

      },

        md: `calc(var(--radius) - 2px)`,

      },
      fontFamily: {

        "accordion-up": "accordion-up 0.2s ease-out",
      },
    },
  },
  plugins: [require("tailwindcss-animate")],
}

this project does not ship CSS files and assumes you're already using tailwind , the styles will be derived from the component tailwind class names

Add this to your tailwind.config.js

content: [
  './src/app/**/*.{ts,tsx}',
  './node_modules/shadcn-fe-ui/dist/**/*.{js,ts,jsx,tsx}',
];

you can also be selective and only load the CSS for the files you've used

for everything in button styles

content: [
  './src/app/**/*.{ts,tsx}',
  './node_modules/shadcn-fe-ui/dist/button/{*}.{js,ts,jsx,tsx}',
];

for a specific button.tsx styles

content: ['./src/app/**/*.{ts,tsx}', './node_modules/shadcn-fe-ui/dist/**/button.tsx'];

and add some default shadcn/ui styles

@tailwind base;
@tailwind components;
@tailwind utilities;

@layer base {
  :root {
    --background: 0 0% 100%;
    --foreground: 222.2 47.4% 11.2%;

    --muted: 210 40% 96.1%;
    --muted-foreground: 215.4 16.3% 46.9%;

@layer base {

    @apply border-border;
  }
  body {
    @apply bg-background text-foreground;
    font-feature-settings: "rlig" 1, "calt" 1;
  }
}

You can use the color tool to customize your CSS variables then paste them back in.

And use the components like

import { Button } from 'shadcn-fe-ui';

or import individual components for smaller bundles sizes

import { Button } from 'shadcn-fe-ui/button';

⚠⚠ Usage with multiple entry points is still a work in progress in Nextjs as they don't support the modern exports field in package.json

⚠⚠ Usage with multiple entry points seems not to support type-checking for the multiple entry points unless if this is set in the tsconfig.json

instead of
