Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

How to prepare data for convert tool

  1. Select country you want to make redirect.json (the first dropdown in web).

  2. Click download example data.xlsx link to download the xlsx template. image

  3. Fill in data urls for this downloaded file.

How to make redirect.json file using web tool

  1. Login to the tool with

    1. Username: [email protected]
    2. Password: Chopper@123
  2. Select country you want to make redirect.json (the first dropdown in web).

  3. Upload the filled data .xlsx file from previous step

  4. Upload the latest redirect.json. The latest redirect.json is keept in git already under the public folder of apac-chopper-redirect-convert-tool repository, or you can download it from GCP

  5. Click Generage redirect.json button

  6. Check the log and correct the sheet if any error (fix sheet error and repeat from step 1 again if any)

  7. Make sure no more errors in logs => download the redirect.json and override with existing in git (under public folder)

  8. Use git merge tool to double check the changes (make sure we change correct)

  9. Upload the new redirect.json to GCP

  10. Commit all change on redirect.json, data excel to git for keep track

How to run check 404 urls on VN urls

  1. After generated redirect.json file, we will run check-404.sh
  2. The output file is check404Result.json ; this is the file keeping the success urls and error urs, with success urls we will skip check for the next test, with error urls we will update with the team for correct

Notes

  • To override existing convert, just make a new sheet and put it at the right side then update the value. The right value will override the left value in case duplicated url
