Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

RealTime

RealTime is a project that has the ability to return the actual, local time of a place, using it's longitudinal value, rather than relying on the Standard Time of the country or region. It is based on the longitudinal time theory.

It is a lightweight, simple package mainly for educational purposes, to teach students about longitudinal values and how they determine time. It is also can be used for research purposes, and get an idea of the actual time.

It is based on the simple principle:

t = λ / 15

where:

  • t represents the time difference in hours.
  • λ represents the longitude in degrees.
