Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, πŸ‘‹, I’m Ryan HefnerΒ  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you πŸ™

Overview

This component adds SEO (search engine optimization) metadata tags to the head element for you.

It includes full support for OpenGraph, Twitter Cards, and Google, as well as support for numerous popular meta tags, and any custom tags you might want to add beyond that!

Why Super SEO?

There are no less than a hundred different React SEO components floating around the web, and most have half-baked or zero support for OpenGraph, and many don't support Twitter Cards at all. Worse, documentation for them is sparse.

The goal of this project was to create the end all, be all, super SEO component for React.

This component supports OpenGraph and Twitter Cards fully, and includes TypeScript type definitions and fully documented code (including image size recommendations from the official specs) for an enjoyable coding experience. It also falls back where possible and infers MIME types automatically.

Is it super? You decide!

Features include:

  • πŸ”Œ Essential tags
    • Supports essential SEO tags like title, description, and more.
  • πŸ’― Full OpenGraph and Twitter Cards support
    • Control how your content appears on the most popular social networks.
  • πŸ’ Metadata fallback
    • OpenGraph and Twitter Cards fall back on title and description automatically.
  • πŸ•·οΈ Crawler configuration
    • Configure search engine crawlers with robots and googlebot.
  • βœ… Google site verification
    • Easily add your verification meta tag for Google Search Console.
  • βš’οΈ Custom meta tags
    • Need to include something else? Custom meta tags are quick and painless.
  • πŸ–ΌοΈ Automatic MIME type inference
    • Media MIME types are inferred automatically, meaning one less thing to configure.
  • ✨ TypeScript support and rich documentation
    • Includes full TypeScript type definitions and rich documentation, inside and out. Knowledge is power!
