Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

react-offline-detector is a simple and efficient React hook that helps you detect the user's online/offline status. This hook provides a boolean value that represents whether the user is offline or online, allowing you to build responsive apps that adapt to network changes.

Installation

Usage

1. Basic Setup

Once the library is installed, you can easily use the useOfflineDetector hook to get the user's current network status. This hook returns a boolean (true for offline, false for online), which you can use to display status messages or modify the UI based on the connection state.

2. API Reference

useOfflineDetector Returns a boolean value :

  • true: if the user is offline.
  • false: if the user is online.
