Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

react-native-tomtom-maps

This library is in alpha release and may be unstable for production use.

Getting started

$ yarn add react-native-tomtom-maps

Installation

Need to make small changes in order for Tomtom maps to work.

Android

Add tools name space to <manifest /> element in AndroidManifest.xml Also add android:allowBackup to application element in the same file

<manifest ...
    xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools">
		....
>
<application ....
	...
	tools:replace="android:allowBackup"
	/>

Add Tomtom maven repository in build.gradle:

allprojects{
	repositories{
		...
			maven {
					url 'https://maven.tomtom.com:8443/nexus/content/repositories/releases/'
			}
		...
	}
}

IOS

Make sure that your target is IOS 10 and above. So make this change in your pod file.

platform :ios, '10.0'

This package uses Swift. So, in order to use it you need to create one empty Swift file with bridging header. You may remove this file later on. When you add a swift file, Xcode enables Swift for this project. Otherwise you can get compile errors.

Manual Linking

Manual installation is advised only if the auto linking does not work for some reason.

First try legacy linking method $ react-native link react-native-tomtom-maps

If does not work try as below:

  3. In XCode, in the project navigator, select your project. Add libTomtomMaps.a to your project's Build PhasesLink Binary With Libraries

  • Add import biz.aliustaoglu.tomtom.TomtomMapsPackage; to the imports at the top of the file
  • Add new TomtomMapsPackage() to the list returned by the getPackages() method
  1. Append the following lines to android/settings.gradle:
    include ':react-native-tomtom-maps'
    project(':react-native-tomtom-maps').projectDir = new File(rootProject.projectDir, 	'../node_modules/react-native-tomtom-maps/android')
  2. Insert the following lines inside the dependencies block in android/app/build.gradle:
