Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

react-native-nested-checboxes

react-native-nested-checboxes is the simple implementation of checkboxes in nested style. They can be used when data is in a parent-child relation and needed to be selected.

Getting started

Installation

npm i react-native-nested-checboxes

Please Make sure that imported react-native-nested-checboxes is v2.0.1 or above

"react-native-nested-checboxes": "^2.0.1",

You would also need @react-native-community/checkbox for this.

npm install @react-native-community/checkbox

You would also need react-native-vector-icons for this.

npm install react-native-vector-icons

Linking

From react-native >= 0.60 autolinking will take care of the link (on iOS and Android)

Usage

Import

Import the library like any other module

import NestedCheckBoxesMain from 'react-native-nested-checboxes'

Input

react-native-nested-checboxes takes customized input of a hierarchical object, that then will be used to form a parent child related checkbox.

Example

const [data, setData] = useState([
   {
     parent: 'Parent 1',
     is_checked: false,
     children: [
       {
         value: 'Child 1',
         is_checked: false,
       },
       {
         value: 'Child 2',
         is_checked: false,
       },
       {
         value: 'Child 3',
         is_checked: false,
       },
     ]
   },
   {
     parent: 'Parent 2',
     is_checked: false,
     children: [
       {
         value: 'Child 1',
         is_checked: false,
       },
     ]
   },
 ])

Usage

The user can set any amount of childern that are assigned to a single parent.

     <NestedCheckBoxesMain
       data_list={data}
     />

When any of the box is pressed, it's subsequent is_checked will be toggled true.

//...
{
     parent: 'Parent 1',
     is_checked: false, //<-this will be updated
     children: [
       {
         value: 'Child 1',
         is_checked: false, //<-this will be updated
       },
       {
         //..
//...
       }
}

Properties

| Property | Default | Description | | ------------- |:-------------: | :----- | | data_list | Check Example | Input data which will be manipulated by the library |

Future Prospects

I will be adding a strict mode to the library that wil not allow parent to be unselected while any child is selected. That mode will usually cover usecase of showing weather all the childern are selected or not.

Furthermore I will be adding a stylized list expanding feature that will be better for organizing large amount of data.
