Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

NPM Module

npm install react-native-debugger

Setup

React Native Debugger contains 5 core modules. These modules are responsible to maintain the module correct behaviour.

These are the available named exports of this module.

createDebugger

This module is responsible to set up the debugger and connect it to the Redux architecture.

Installation

Add createDebugger to your compose function.

createStore(rootReducer, compose(
	createDebugger(),
	applyMiddleware(...middlewares)
));

Parameters

  • isVisible (Boolean|Required) - if true the debugger UI will be visible by default
  • allowServerLogging (Boolean|Required) - if true the debugger will send the events to your debugger-server.
  • serverUrl (String|Required) - debugger server url (see debugger-server)
  • authorization (String|Required) Base auth hash, see details: How to generate auth hash
  • eventTypes (Array|Required) - array of Event Objects you want to trigger

Events

IMPORTANT:
The mudule will display only the listed events!
  • TYPE (String|Required) - event type (e.g NETWORK_REQUEST)

  • EVENT_NAME (String|Required) - short category name to be displayed on the Debugger UI.

Example setup

createDebugger({
	isVisible:  true,
	allowServerLogging:  true,
	serverUrl:  'http://mydomain.com/log',
  authorization: 'YWRtaW46U2VjcmV0MTIz', <--- DEFAULT HASH

		{
			TYPE: 'NETWORK_REQUEST',
			CATEGORY_NAME: 'Network request logging',
			EVENT_NAME: 'Net. Request',
		},

debuggerReducer

Add debuggerReducer to your combineReducers.

IMPORTANT:

Name debuggerReducer as debugger in your store!

combineReducers({
	debugger: debuggerReducer,
	...otherReducers,
})

Debugger

This api is responsible for event triggering. Use this pice of code anywhere in your application to capture React Native Events.

Debugger.logAction({
	label: 'My event',
	type: 'NETWORK_REQUEST',
	logType: 'SUCCESS',
	data: myCustomData <-- Supported types: String, Array, Object
});

Debugger.EVENT_TYPES

  • NONE use this type for neutral events
  • ERROR use this type for error events
  • WARNING use this type for warning events
  • SUCCESS use this type for success events

DebuggerUI

UI implementation of React Native Debugger. Insert it in your main application container, on the top of your content!

<SafeView>
	<StatusBar hidden />
	<RenderScreen route={route} />
	<Header />
	<Tabbar />
	<RenderOverlay />
