Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

React-media-capture ci nycrc config on GitHub

React-media-capture is a library that helps you build components for capturing audio, video, or image using the Media Capture API. It provides a hook that handles the nitty-gritty of the capture process, as well as a set of utility components. From your end, you only need to provide the user interface.

The library makes use of react-seq. It is designed for React 18 and above.

Installation

npm install --save-dev react-media-capture

Monitoring volume

When the option watchVolume is true, useMediaCapture will monitor the audio volume. This allows you to draw a volume indicator that responds to the user's voice, letting him know that his microphone is working correctly:

The state variable volume is in decibel. It varies from -90 or so (a quiet room) to -10 (very loud).
