Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

React Drag Scale Bar

✨ A simple draging bar that shows the scale. ✨ Compatible for mouse clicking and screen touching ✨ == new! == You can customize the color of the parts now!

🎄 github 🎄

How to use

  • Add package to your project
npm install react-drag-scale-bar --save
  • Import component into your code
import DragScaleBar from 'react-drag-scale-bar'

<DragScaleBar />

import React from 'react';
import DragScaleBar from './components/DragScaleBar'

function App() {
  return (
    <div>
      <DragScaleBar />
    </div>
  );
}

props

  • handleValue: Takes the callback function whenever value of scale bar changes.
    • Example: This code will print the value of scale bar(0~100) on console everytime the bar gets toggled.
      function App(){
          function print(num){
              console.log(num)
          }
          return(
              <div>
                  <DragScaleBar handleValue={num => print(num)} />
              </div>
          )
      }
  • width: Takes an integer, for example: width={300}, sets the width of whole component to 300px.
    • The fill in part will be 300*0.9px width for this case.
    • Default value is 400.
  • initValue: Takes a integer from 0~100. It will be the initial percentage of this scalebar.
  • outBorder: defaulttrue, if there is outer border for the scalebar.
  • dragBorder: default true, if there is border for the toggler.
  • fillBorder: default false, if there is border for the inner filling bar.

Color styling

  • Each of these takes a color code ex: #FF5151
    • dragColor: the draggable circle's fill in color.
    • fillColor: the fill-in bar's color (you can put in 0 to make the bar invisible)
    • outBorderColor: the color of the outer border
  • Example:
<DragScaleBar
    dragColor="#FFB5B5" //pink
    fillColor="#ACD6FF" //light blue
    outBorderColor="#004B97" //dark blue
/>

This is actually my first time publishing packages, I am very welcome for any feedbacks :) New to the open source community and have a long way to go!!
