Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

random-hue-color

Connect with your local Hue bridge and use a random scene.

This script requires a Hue bridge to be set up properly on your local network. Make sure your lights are turned on before running this script, otherwise nothing will happen.

Install

$ npm install

Usage

$ node .

When running this script for the first time, you'll probably get the following error message:

It looks like your bridge is not connected. Please press the link button on your Hue bridge to allow user registration and try again!

This means you'll need to press the "link" button on your Hue bridge to allow API user registrations. After doing this, run the script again to complete user registration.

When a new user has been registered, the script will return a new API key. Make sure you save this API key in the config object in config.js. This API key will be used the next time you run the script again.
