Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

postgres.querygen - Query generator for postgres, built on top of PostgresJS

Lightning fast query generator to accompany your use of the PostgresJS library. What does lightning fast mean? Frankly I don't know, but see the performance section below for benchmarks.

This library was created to reduce the boilerplate for very common queries. Having the flexibility of the PostgresJS library's inherent query building mechanism is great, but it usually ends up with teams writing large amounts of the same code. For simple CRUD entities this is usually overkill and not the reason you are using a lower level library like PostgresJS. We help you fill the gap by standardizing the way you interact with your tables, without boxing you into the use of an ORM or a different driver like PG.

Installation

NPM

Getting Started

Setup your row type

Given an example table for an inventory item list:

CREATE TABLE inventory_items (
    id SERIAL PRIMARY KEY,
    name TEXT NOT NULL,
    quantity INT NOT NULL,
    is_published BOOLEAN NOT NULL
)

We can then construct our type definition for the row as follows:

}

From here all you need to do is initialize the querygen instance with the type and you are good to go!
