Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

#Vis reusable and configurable js library for data visualizations

Built with love and D3.js.

Consist of many modules and has similar structure as d3 do internally. By virtue of browserify they can be used individually.

##Demo Composite visualization

##Usage You may include dependencies and vis.min.js downloaded from this repository or use browserify to include only necessary modules from source. See examples for details.

When developing locally, note that your browser may enforce strict permissions for reading files out of the local file system. If you use d3.xhr locally (including d3.json et al.), you must have a local web server. For example, you can run Python's built-in server:

  python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8888 &

##Modules #Array d3.cumulative lodash has many usefull methods - how to merge them with d3? test d3.min vs _.min performance #Selection d3.selection.delegate as https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/d3-js/lpezER89BOc #Layout operates on data writes relative coordinates to data attributes (naming by convention) have public functions to set relative positioning configuration, data input ranges(domain) e.g. Pie: startAngle, endAngle - sets start/end of the whole layout Radial: range Hierarchy Tree - Cluster - same as Tree, but produces dendograms with leafs on the same level +Partition Pack Treemap -Bundle - Radial with mutial links inside circle -Chord - show relationships among a group of entities Force +Pie - TODO generalize ?Histogram #Svg operates on elements have public functions to set coordinate absolute binding and relative which by conventions reads the attributes set in the Layout e.g. Arc relative accessors: startAngle, endAngle - sets start/end of each arc Arc absolute accessors: innerRadius, outerRadius - sets absolute binding to the [0,0] point of the container Axis Shapes Arc Area Diagonal Line Symbol -Chord Control Brush Lasso - implemented as plugin #Behavior ~Zoom ~Pan ~D&D ~Selection #Core #Format
