Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

#Pernr

Pernr is a minimal library for parsing and validating Swedish national identification numbers (personnummer, samordningsnummer).

##Usage var pernr = new Pernr('890101-4251');

var date = pernr.getBirthDate(); // date object for January 1 1989
var gender = pernr.getGender(); // male
var region = pernr.getRegion(); // Malmöhus Län
var isValid = pernr.isValid(); // true
var str = pernr.toString(); // 890101-4251
var str2 = pernr.toString({fullYear:true}); // 19890101-4251

###Pernr(pernrStr)

Constructor to create a new Pernr instance for the string pernrStr

Arguments

pernrStr  {String} a string representation of the identification number. Allowed
          formats are:
              yymmdd-xxxx
            yyyymmdd-xxxx
              yymmddxxxx
            yyyymmddxxxx
              yymmdd+xxxx (plus sign indicates that the person is older than 100 years)

###Pernr##getBirthDate()

returns a date object for the persons birth date.


###Pernr##getGender()

returns the persons gender. Possible values are Pernr.MALE and Pernr.FEMALE


###Pernr##getRegion()

returns the region where the person was born. This infomation is only available for identification numbers older than Jan 1 1990.


###Pernr##isValid()

returns true if this is a valid identification number (the last digit is a checksum)


###Pernr##toString(opts)

returns a string represenation of the pernr. if opts.fullYear is true the extended representation is used
