Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Introduction

Measures time of passed functions with their arguments and returns the time of function working in milliseconds.

Installation

NPM

npm install performy --save

Basic usage

Importing:

import perfomy from 'perfomy';

API:

ExecuteOnce:

Will display the time of function working.

Options:
  • function - Body of the function
  • params - Array or list of params if it exists
const testFetchData = () => {
    fetch('http://testurl.com')
    .then((resp) => resp.json())
    .then(function(data) {
        let data = data.results;
    });
}
// Performance test running
performy.executeOnce(testFetchData);
Expected result:
----- [performance test start] -----
Function "mathTest" fulfilled in 9.7 ms
 ----- [performance test end] -----

ExecuteAvg:

Will display the average time of N-times of function working.

Options:
  • function - Body of the function
  • times - How many times function will be executed
  • params - Array or list of params if it exists
const testMath = (a,b) => ((a^b) * (a^b) * (a^b)) / 100;
// Performance test running
performy.executeAvg(testMath, 20, [112, 233]);
Expected result:

Timer:

It is possible to use performance timer separately.
