Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

NPM Pokémon API v1.0.0

This app is a basic npm package that pulls info about a particular pokemon from the PokéAPI. It will retrieve the following information:

  • Name
  • Type of the Pokémon
  • Abilities separated by a comma
  • Weight of the Pokémon in pounds lbs
  • Base experience of the Pokémon

How to Use

Install the package by using:

npm install npm-poke-api

After that, you can retrieve the data of the Pokémon you choose by using:

pokemon-cli get-pokemon --pokemon=<pokémonName>

Use Example

If after installing you type:

pokemon-cli get-pokemon --pokemon=chikorita

You will see:

chikorita, of type grass has these abilities: overgrow, leaf-guard. This pokémon weighs around 64 lbs and has a base experience of 64
