Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Noger

Noger is a CLI tool that can generate NodeJS directory structure with express framework. Noger generates project structure based on standard service side development, for more details on how to use Noger follow the link. Noger also provides functionality to Add Rotes, Models, Api's, Functions from CLI itself. So no overhead of writing basic code everytime you add a new functionality to your project.

Installation

To use Noger you must have nodejs and npm preinstalled in your system. To install Noger globally use

npm install -g noger

This will install Noger globally so that it can be used from anywhere in the system.

How to use

  • To create a new NodeJS project with express, type in console

    ngr create <your project name> or ngr c <your project name>

  • To add a new route into existing project

    ngr route <your route name> or ngr r <your route name>

  • To add a new route but not create a new model

ngr route <your route name> --model false or ngr r <your route name> -m false

  • To add a model into existing project use

    ngr model <your model name> or ngr m <your model name>

  • To add a api to existing project

ngr api --path <Api path> --name <name of the function> --type <can be method type GET,POST,PUT,DELETE> --route <name of route>

    or

    ngr api -p <Api path> -n <name of the function> -t <can be method type GET,POST,PUT,DELETE> -r <name of route>

In the new upadate we have intoduced new npm module noger-ui, which can be used to test the api's without using 3rd party tools/software. The module is still in beta and you can find it at this link.By default it is given in the project which will be created using noger.

  • You can also install it using the following command: npm install noger-ui
