Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

node-red-contrib-ls-jms

This projects contributes nodes to Node-Red (https://nodered.org/) to send and receive JMS messages by leveraging the lightstreamer jms extender (https://lightstreamer.com/ls-jms-features). While lightstreamer jms extender does the heavy work to actually perform JMS communication, this project bridges this communication into the node-red context by providing

  • an input node that receives JMS messages
  • an output node that sends JMS messages
  • a configuration node to setup the communication

Installation

If you have installed Node-RED as a global node.js package (you use the command node-red anywhere to start it), you need to install node-red-contrib-ls-jms as a global package as well.

npm install -g node-red-contrib-ls-jms

If you have a local node.js project, then you may install it as a local packages

npm install node-red-contrib-ls-jms --save

Usage

After installing node-red-contrib-ls-jms there are new nodes in the palette labelled with 'ls jms'. An input node for receiving jms messages. An output node for sending jms messages.

ls-jms-in-node

ls-jms-out-node

Drag and drop them onto the canvas of the node-red-editor as any other nodes. Configrue these nodes by double-clicking. For both nodes you can set a name, the destination type (queue or topic), the name of the destination and the lightstreamer jms configuration node.

ls-jms-in-node-config

The configuration node configures the reference to the lightstreamer jms extender. The lightstreamer jms extender has a configuration of its own for accessing jms brokers (refer to the lightstreamer jms extender documentation). In the configuration node you set the url of the lightstreamer jms extender and the name of the adapter (to the the jms broker) in the lightreamer jms extender configuration file

ls-jms-config-node

After applying these settings the configuration node can be referenced by any input or output node.

ls-jms-config-node2
