Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

  • create an express server
  • create a GET route in express server
  • GET route should render the html page created from mock up
  • set up express with a view engine to render html files

  • use a data structure LIST(array) to store to do items

  • pass the LIST to the html page created from mock up

** Front-end

  • display each item in the LIST passed to the html page

  • set up express server to accept incoming POST requests
  • look at incoming request
  • parse the incoming request
  • store the incoming task into the LIST storing to do items

  • set up express server to accept incoming DELETE requests
  • use params place holder to identify the items to be deleted by index
  • remove item from LIST

** Front-end

  • manipulate the DOM to send DELETE request to express server delete route when an item is clicked.
