from my first attempt at playing through the game i saw a number of things that i had to change immediately. there was no description of the game or the anime surrounding it, making it extremely difficult to understand what was going on.

in the game, with a relatively simple control scheme, you do well in battles when you can draw off advantage quickly. if you rely upon the cpu for the bulk of your attacks, you lose. you can run away, but this turns you into a much bigger target to attack. you are limited in what you can carry, so if you run out of items, you are out of luck until you run into a store.

when you start the game you are given the option to make a first character. this could be a representation of yourself, but you can also choose one from the characters introduced by the story. when you create your first character, you are asked to name the character, choose a gender, and select an ancestry. there is no list of available choices, so you have to figure out for yourself what they all mean, and which gender or ancestry should be assigned to your character.

the game begins with a prologue which takes place before your first battle. one of the characters, a young man, explains that the world was shattered by the war of fire and stone, and as a result people are living in isolation. they were living in peace until the day that a scientist named nuada appeared in the sky, which sent the planet into chaos. the scientist wants to destroy the world, but many things stand in his way. first he wants to complete his miracle, an all-powerful ring, that he knows will end the war. then he wants to use the ring on the island of tol urse, and finally, he wants to use the ring on the island of par voss. 84d34552a1
