Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

NHS.UK Tools Chart components

This repository contains the code for NHS.UK Chart components

These chart components are designed for visualizing Body Mass Index (BMI), Child Body Mass Index (CBMI) and Blood Pressure (BP) data.

Initially, these charts were integrated into separate codebases for each of the individual tools. To support consistency and reusability across NHS projects, we have migrated these chart components into a dedicated library.

Components

Bar Slider

The Bar Slider chart is a generic chart component that can be used to visualize a variety of data. It is part of the NHS.UK Chart component library and can be customized to fit specific needs.

<BarSliderChart
  config={mockBarSliderConfigExample2}
  value={35.7}
  markerText="Your Result:"
/>

Body Mass Index

The Body Mass Index (BMI) chart component can be used to visualise body mass index data.

<BmiChart classificationBounds={classificationBounds} bmi={19.4} />

Child Body Mass Index

The Child Body Mass Index (CBMI) chart component can be used to visualise the centile score.

<ChildBmiChart
  classificationBounds={classificationBounds}
  centile={{ value: 1, label: 'Below 2' }}
  markerText="The centile:"
/>

Blood Pressure

The Blood Pressure (BP) chart component can be used to visualise systolic and diastolic blood pressure readings.

<BpChart
  bounds={bounds}
  reading={{ systolic: 120, diastolic: 80 }}
  graphLayout={graphLayoutProp}
/>

A storybook instance for the components can be found in https://tools-graph-components.nhswebsite-dev.nhs.uk/?path=/docs/welcome--docs

Installation

Ensure you have Node.js 20.x.x. installed. Usage of NVM is recommended, to allow for easily switching between versions on different projects.

npm install will install dependencies.

Build

npm run build will build the project.

Build storybook

npm run storybook will build and deploy the storybook locally in http://localhost:6006/

Import the compiled CSS

Before using the components, import the compiled CSS file from your project's build directory:

@import 'node_modules/nhsuk-tools-chart-components-react/dist/esm/bundle.css';
