Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

ngx-loading-Plugin

The plugin is created for adding class to UI element by Observaving user interaction to application.

Reasons to Use This Plugin

Most of the time we are importing so many things to show loader, disable the Ui element and like the common one is creating a boolean state in component to check for action status, due to this plugin, we can easily handle by using angular custom directive, we can do the following things:

We adding CSS class to the UI element to define the status of the action.

  • on action dispatch we adding active class.
  • on action success we adding success class.
  • on action throw error we adding error class.

Disable the UI element.

when action is dispatch the UI element is disabled so plugin prevents a double click on the UI element and enables once action status becomes success or error..

Note: you need to adding CSS against these classes, where user know button is press.

Installation

Run the following code in your terminal:

yarn add ngx-loading-plugin

or if you are using npm:

npm install ngx-loading-plugin

Usage

Setup Before Initial Use

Import NgxLoadingPluginModule into your root module like:

import { NgxLoadingPluginModule } from 'ngx-loading-plugin';

@NgModule({
  imports: [
    NgxLoadingPluginModule.forRoot()
  ]
})
export class AppModule {}

we can pass config object to forRoot to change css class name.

  NgxLoadingPluginModule.forRoot({
    cssClassName: {
      active: 'focus',
      success: 'done',
      error: 'error'
    }
  })

We passing a function to the directive. the function should return observable. you can see the following example.

loading.component.ts

export class LoadingComponent {
  constructor(private store: Store) {}

  onSubmit(): Observable<any> {
    const { email, password } = this.form.value;
    return this.httpRequest(email, password).pipe(
      tap((resp) => {
        /* here your code on success */
        alert(`${JSON.stringify(resp)}`);
      }), catchError((err) => {
        alert(err);
        /* here your code on error */
        return throwError(err);
      }));
  }
}

here onSubmit returning obserable and than we pass these function to directive in the current class context.

<input type="submit" value="Submit" class="button" [ngxLoading]="onSubmit.bind(this)">
  Submit
</button>

here 'bind' reserve the context of the current component. and send copy of function to the directive.
