Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

ng-transition

Transition elements via classes like you would in the Vue and Alpine.js libraries.

Click here for a demo app, via Heroku. You can also find the code of this demo in the apps/ng-transition-demo folder of this repository.

Install

Download ng-transition into your Angular project via NPM or Yarn:

# NPM
npm install ng-transition

# Yarn
yarn add ng-transition

Basic Use

Similar to the modal example found in this repository's demo app, an example modal in your code may look something like the below snippet.

The below is a mixture of custom classes and TailwindCSS utilities. Your transition classes can be totally customized in your CSS or SCSS files, or they can be utility functions like our example.

<!-- We want the entire container to wait to hide before leaving, -->
<!-- therefore we will specify a `ngTransitionLeave` value that is -->
<!-- also tied to the `openedModal` value. -->
<div
  class="modal-container"
  [ngTransition]="openedModal"
  ngTransitionEnter="duration-300"
  ngTransitionLeave="duration-200"
>
  <div
    class="modal-backdrop"
    [ngTransition]="openedModal"
    ngTransitionEnter="ease-out duration-300"
    ngTransitionEnterStart="opacity-0"
    ngTransitionEnterEnd="opacity-100"
    ngTransitionLeave="ease-in duration-200"
    ngTransitionLeaveStart="opacity-100"
    ngTransitionLeaveEnd="opacity-0"
  >
    <div class="modal-backdrop-mask"></div>
  </div>

  <div
    class="modal-content"
    [ngTransition]="openedModal"
    ngTransitionEnter="ease-out duration-300"
    ngTransitionEnterStart="opacity-0 translate-y-4 sm:translate-y-0 sm:scale-95"
    ngTransitionEnterEnd="opacity-100 translate-y-0 sm:scale-100"
    ngTransitionLeave="ease-in duration-200"
    ngTransitionLeaveStart="opacity-100 translate-y-0 sm:scale-100"
    ngTransitionLeaveEnd="opacity-0 translate-y-4 sm:translate-y-0 sm:scale-95"
  >
    ...
  </div>
</div>

Angular Universal

Depending on the Alpine.js source directly resulted in errors when rendering Angular server-side. Find the example server module in the apps/ng-transition-demo/src/app folder to see how we replace problematic browser APIs with server-side friendly implementations via the ng-refs package.

If you see the below error when rendering Angular server-side, find our Dependency Injection solution in the aforementioned folder.
