Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Breaking news in your terminal, here and now.

Description

Newsid is a terminal (CLI) application to show a list of breaking news from various platform in Indonesia like CNN, CNBC, Kumparan, Tribun, etc. It's simply show a list of breaking news with a title, post time and of course related link to the platform website. It uses open-source API Berita Indo API by satyawikananda.

Installation

Install this project with npm

npm install -g newsid

Usage/Examples

Show Help

newsid --help
Usage: newsid [options]

Indonesian breaking news CLI

Options:
  -V, --version           output the version number
  -h, --help              show this help page
  -p, --platform [value]  choose specific platform [cnn | cnbc | republika | tempo | kumparan | okezone | bbc | tribun | vice | suara | voa], default is cnn
  -c, --count <value>     option for showing specific numbers of news [1-10], default is 5

The default command will show the breaking news from CNN platform with the default count is 5, you can override the options of platform using -p or --platform followed by tha value. To override the news count use the -c or --count option in the range of 1-10.
