Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

however, nimzowitsch remained a strong player. in 1930, he played the british champion reuben fine. fine was a young, very good player, who later achieved world-class strength. after the game it became known that reuben fine had broken the nimzowitsch system and was going to win the match. the new york times made an article on it. nimzowitsch answered to it on the chess pages of the new york tribune. this letter was seen by fine and he asked nimzowitsch for a rematch. nimzowitsch said that he would rather resign.

the same happened in 1931, when fine faced alekhine in the play-off match for the world championship. so, reuben fine became world champion, having been a strong player before but having reverted to the nimzowitsch system.

it's also a common thing, that theoretical systems are not helpful in winning matches! in the following years, nimzowitsch realized that it's hard to generalize from materialistic games that are too concrete for an abstract game like chess. he came to the conclusion that, after the reuben fine episode, he had to find his own theory for chess, otherwise it will seem like he was simply repeating a system that was already proven.

very worth. been using it for two months and, as they said, you will find your niche. use it for reading old books or for today's new books, in any combination. very detailed and supportive, i believe it is the best user-friendly app i have ever used.

bordeaux in 2009. my friend stephane tells me that i have already started studying the first book (never read before). i love it and, in no time, i already knew most of the topics covered: e.g., the main line of the scheveningen variation and the different rules for white in the sicilian defence (borotian, lautier, and..e5). 84d34552a1
