Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Motanamy CLI Tool

The motanamy-cli tool is a command-line interface that helps you create, develop, run, and upload plugins for the Standalone Application (SA), Operating System (OS), and Enterprise Application (EA) platforms.

Installation

Before using the motanamy-cli tool, ensure you have Node.js installed. You can download it from Node.js.

Install the motanamy-cli tool globally using npm:

npm install -g motanamy-cli

Commands Overview

Create a New Plugin

To create a new plugin project, use the create command. Specify the type of application you are targeting (SA, OS, or EA).

mot create <plugin-name> --type <application-type>

Example for creating a plugin for Enterprise Application (EA):

mot create-plugin my-plugin --type EA

Example for creating a plugin for Standalone Application (SA):

mot create-plugin my-plugin --type SA

Example for creating a plugin for Operating System (OS):

mot create-plugin my-plugin --type OS

Run the Plugin

To run your plugin locally for testing, navigate to your plugin directory and use the run command:

cd <plugin-directory>
mot run

Upload the Plugin

Before uploading your plugin, ensure you are logged in to your account using the token command:

mot toekn add

You will be prompted to enter your credentials. After logging in, upload your plugin using the upload command:

mot upload

Link Application Path

To link an application path on your desktop, use the link command. This command allows you to select the type of application and specify the path.

mot link add

Display Help

To display help for the CLI tool and see a list of available commands, use the help command:

mot help
