Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

But what is this new devblog about? As you might have guessed, the answer is stability. Stability, in this case, means that 1.5.2 is a bugfix release and 1.5.1 was a beta test, meant to gather feedback from our community to help us develop future versions of Minecraft.

If you haven’t heard about this mod already then let me tell you that this is truly one of the most amazing mods you can find in Minecraft history. The mod will make the whole game not look the same as it always did and using this one mod will change the entire world of Minecraft making it vastly and further and being fun to play because of the changes.

In this Minecraft update, we’ve added mouse-based doors, removed the lag compensation for the method of pushing and pulling blocks and more. Not only that, but we’ve improved the daylight and night speed, tweaked potion spawning, fixed death sounds for some things and added a new music track.

The next thing we tried was a double-jump, and that was another cool thing that came out, and we started doing things like that. Then we kind of came up with these five big pillars, you know the fountain, the sun, the clouds, and the moon. And those five pillars came to be what we call our key icons, and they represent places and directions in Minecraft.

Its the moon, and we think thats one of the more open-ended pillars. Its about happiness and discord. For instance, the moon could be like a thing of beauty, where everything starts to sort of shift in colors and the sky turns pink or silver. But if you play it in a full day and night cycle, where we use the actual day-night cycle that Minecraft uses, then you can get into much darker and more discordant themes. Like if the moon is always full of sadness. Or if it is always in the form of a skull. 84d34552a1
