Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Mega Millions Lottery random number generator

Description

The node script mega-millions-rng uses a cryptographically secure random number generator to pick a total of six uniformly distributed random numbers output as a JSON array. The first five are in the range [1-70] (inclusive) and last is in the range [1-25].

The mega-millions-rng package has no dependencies.

Synopsis

Installation

To install from the web, on the command line run:

npm i -g mega-millions-rng

Source Installation

To install from source, on the command line run:

git clone https://github.com/slewsys/mega-millions-rng
cd ./mega-millions-rng

and if GNU make and JSON parser jq are available, run:

gmake check
gmake install

Otherwise, run:

npm pack .
npm install -g ./mega-millions-rng-1.0.0.tgz

Example

mega-millions-rng

produces output in the format:

["29","33","46","56","57","10"]
