Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

decompress Build Status

Extracting archives made easy

See decompress-cli for the command-line version.

Install

$ npm install masterthanh

Usage

const decompress = require('decompress');

decompress('unicorn.zip', 'dist').then(files => {
	console.log('done!');
});

API

decompress(input, [output], [options])

Returns a Promise for an array of files in the following format:

{
	data: Buffer,
	mode: Number,
	mtime: String,
	path: String,
	type: String
}

input

Type: string Buffer

File to decompress.

output

Type: string

Output directory.

options

filter

Type: Function

Filter out files before extracting. E.g:

decompress('unicorn.zip', 'dist', {
	filter: file => path.extname(file.path) !== '.exe'
}).then(files => {
	console.log('done!');
});

Note that in the current implementation, filter is only applied after fully reading all files from the archive in memory. Do not rely on this option to limit the amount of memory used by decompress to the size of the files included by filter. decompress will read the entire compressed file into memory regardless.

map

Type: Function

Map files before extracting: E.g:

decompress('unicorn.zip', 'dist', {
	map: file => {
		file.path = `unicorn-${file.path}`;
		return file;
	}
}).then(files => {
	console.log('done!');
});
plugins

Type: Array Default: [decompressTar(), decompressTarbz2(), decompressTargz(), decompressUnzip()]

Array of plugins to use.

strip

Type: number Default: 0

Remove leading directory components from extracted files.
