Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Open-source implementation of Markdown for C# and Javascript

This is the Node.JS package of MarkdownDeep - an open-source (read license) implementation of the increasingly popular web publishing syntax Markdown. MarkdownDeep provides a high performance implementation of Markdown and MarkdownExtra in C# and JavaScript.

Getting started with MarkdownDeep for Node.JS

First install MarkdownDeep, from command line

> npm install markdowndeep

or via package.json eg:

...
  "dependencies": {
    "markdowndeep": "*"
  }
...

Next, bring it into your project:

var MarkdownDeep = require('markdowndeep');

Now, create an instance of the MarkdownDeep engine and set options:

var mdd = new MarkdownDeep.Markdown();
mdd.ExtraMode = true;
mdd.SafeMode = true;

And finally, tranform your Markdown to HTML:

var html = mdd.Transform("# Welcome to MarkdownDeep\nHello World\n\n");
