Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Line Bot Simple Server

line-bot-simple-server is a Node.js package that allows you to easily and quickly create a bot server for Line. It utilizes the Line Messaging API to send messages from this server to the Line app. Using this package allows you to quickly and easily create a bot server, even if you are not familiar with Node.js and the details of the Messaging API.

Prerequisites

  • Node.js and npm installed
  • Line Business Account
  • Channel Access Token and Channel Secret from your Line Business Account. To obtain them, please refer to the instructions

Installation

npm install line-bot-simple-server --save

Usage

Firstly, import the package and initialize it with your Channel Access Token and Channel Secret. Create a message to initialize the messageProvider using the setMessage method, and then start the bot server! The server will be available at the endpoint http://localhost:8081/webhook

import { LineBotSimpleServer, MessageProvide, LineBotSimpleServerConfig } from 'line-bot-simple-server'

const lineBotSimpleServerConfig: LineBotSimpleServerConfig = {
  channelAccessToken: YOUR_CHANNEL_ACCESS_TOKEN,
  channelSecret: YOUR_CHANNEL_SECRET
}
const message: Flex | Carousel = {...***}
const PORT = 8081

const messageProvider = new MessageProvider(message)
messageProvider.setMessage(message)
const lineBotSimpleServer = new LineBotSimpleServer(lineBotSimpleServerConfig, messageProvider)
lineBotSimpleServer.startServer(PORT)

Create message

The code bellow provides an exmaple of how to create a Flex Message using the package. It utilizes CSS Flexbox and provides support for various type such as Flex, Bubble, Carousel, Text, Box, Button, Image, Video, Icon, Span, Separator and Filler.

const text: Text = {
  type: 'text',
  text: 'hoge'
}
const box: Box = {
  type: 'box',
  layout: 'horizontal',
  contents: [text]
}

const bubble: Bubble = {
  type: 'bubble',
  body: box
}

const message: Flex = {
  type: 'flex',
  altText: 'This is a flex message',
  contents: bubble
}

Demo

To create a temporary demo of your Node.js server on localhost, you can use localtunnel. Run the following commands.

npm install localtunnel -D
npx lt --port 8081 --subdomain enterYourPreferredSubdomain
